Pokémon card template: make your own custom Pokémon cards
Making a custom Pokémon card, for a birthday, a school project or just for fun, starts with the right size. Our free template below is the exact size of a Pokémon card, so your custom cards fit standard sleeves, toploaders and binders.
Free Pokémon card template
63 × 88 mm (2.5 × 3.5 in), the size of a Pokémon card, with 3 mm bleed, the trim line, rounded corners and a safe area for text. Vector files: print at 100% (“actual size”), not “fit to page”.
The template is blank, with no logos or artwork, so it works in any design app: import the SVG into Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity or Inkscape and design on top of it.
Pokémon card size for your template
- Finished size: 63 × 88 mm (2.5 × 3.5 inches).
- Bleed: add 3 mm on every side (69 × 94 mm) so the background runs past the cut line.
- Safe area: keep text at least 4 mm inside the edge.
- Corners: rounded, with a radius of about 3 mm.
- Resolution: design at 300 dpi, which is 744 × 1039 pixels, or 815 × 1110 pixels with bleed.

Customisable Pokémon cards: how to make a custom card
- Pick a Pokémon, or invent one, and add its name and HP to the top bar.
- Add artwork to the art window: your own drawing, a photo of your pet, or a picture you have the right to use.
- Write attacks with an Energy cost and damage, then Weakness, Resistance and Retreat. See how to read a Pokémon card for where everything goes.
- Print at 100% (actual size) on heavy card stock (300 gsm or more) or matte photo paper.
- Cut on the trim line, round the corners with a corner punch, and slide the card into a sleeve with a real card behind it for stiffness.
Custom Pokémon cards: the rules
- Custom cards are for fun: they can't be used at official Pokémon tournaments.
- Don't sell custom cards made with Pokémon names or artwork, or pass them off as real ones. That's counterfeiting (how to spot a fake Pokémon card).
- Only use artwork you made yourself or have permission to use.
